Olivier Brault is a recipient of Prizes from the Quebec Conservatory of Music in Montréal and in Chicoutimi, and a graduate from the Université de Montréal ( Master's degree in Baroque and Classical violin). He is a member of Ensemble Arion, the Studio de Musique Ancienne de Montréal, the Franz Joseph Trio (with Mireille Lagacé and Marcel Saint-Cyr), and also performs with the ensembles Les Boréades, Capriole and Les Idées Heureuses, as well as with the orchestra of the Lamèque Baroque Music Festival (N.B.) , Publick Musick (N.Y.) . He is the musical director of the Théâtre Lavalliére & Jabot, which concerns itself with the re-enactment of French Baroque entertainments combining dance, theatre. As orchestral musician, concertmaster and soloist with the Montreal Baroque Orchestra, from 1998 until 2000, he participated in several local and international concert tours. Olivier Brault was teacher and director for the course " Baroque Orchestra" at McGill University during 1999-2000. His CD recordings include performances with the MBO (soloist in F. Geminiani1s op. 3 concerti), Ensemble Arion, with oboist Bruce Haynes, and Les Boréades, all on the ATMA label. |
