Sarasa News:

This past May 2008, our Outreach Program began a new project with talented students from the New England Conservatory [NEC]. Under the direction of pianist Tanya Blaich and cellist Timothy Merton, nine singers performed opera excerpts for incarcerated teenage boys.

The students proved to be an inspired role model for the teens; and likewise it was a learning experience that left an indelible impression on the young vocalists. This season we plan to expand this project with student opera performances from both NEC and Boston University.

Thanks to the Kalliopiea Foundation and their wonderful generosity, Sarasa is now doing more residencies and concerts for teenagers than ever before.

We are grateful as well to all our individual donors who continue to give so generously. Your support has been critical to Sarasa’s ongoing efforts and we look forward to seeing you at our future concerts.
